In Myster Animo, you dive together into cheerful, busy pictures full of details, where among all the animals and objects there is always one hidden intruder. You try to spot that intruder – a small object or creature that doesn’t belong with the rest of the picture – as quickly as possible. All players look at the same time, making it an exciting race against each other. The game is easy to explain but remains fun because each card shows a different scene and a different intruder. This makes Myster Animo a super fun thinking game for children that you want to keep playing again and again.
In Myster Animo, each player tries to be the first to find the “intruder” on the card. The intruder is a small object or animal that has nothing to do with the rest of the picture. As soon as you think you’ve found it, point to it and say out loud what you see, for example “Rabbit!” or “Shoe!”. If you’re correct, you win the card. At the end of the game, the winner is the player who has collected the most cards.
While playing, it playfully challenges your speed of perception, concentration, and visual attention to detail, because in every scene you have to quickly discover what doesn’t fit.
You start the game by shuffling all 54 cards well and placing them as a closed stack in the middle of the table, picture side down. The oldest player may start. After that, play proceeds clockwise: each player takes their turn to flip a new card.
As soon as everyone is ready and focused, the active player flips the top card from the stack and places it face up next to the pile so all players can clearly see the picture. From that moment on, all players play simultaneously. You look carefully at the card and search for the intruder: a small object or animal that doesn’t fit the theme of the rest of the picture.
If you think you have found the intruder, point to it with your finger so the others can see exactly what you are indicating, and loudly shout what it is, for example “Rabbit!” or “Shoe!”. If the other players confirm that you have indeed pointed out the intruder, you win the card and place it in front of you. Then a new round immediately starts with the next card.
If you make a mistake and point to something that actually belongs in the picture, you are out for that round and cannot win the card. The other players then continue to search for the real intruder. If someone eventually points out the correct intruder, that player gets the card and the next round starts. If everyone is wrong, the card is removed from the game.
It is important that each card has exactly one intruder and that the same intruder never appears on multiple cards with the same picture. Also, even if you point out the intruder correctly but do not name the object or animal correctly, you still win the card. The game continues until all cards have been flipped; the player with the most cards wins the match.
Fancy a quick, accessible game that challenges children – and yourself – to rapidly find the intruder among all kinds of animals and objects? Then put Myster Animo on the table and discover how many cards you can win. Order the game today and soon find out who has the sharpest eye for everything that doesn’t belong in the picture.
