The Origin and Mission of Blue Orange Games

Blue Orange Games was founded in 1999 in San Francisco by Thierry Denoual. The name finds its inspiration in the poem "Earth is Blue Like an Orange" by Paul Éluard, and reflects the vision of the company: a harmonious world in which people are connected to each other. This philosophy is clearly expressed in their mission: "Hot Games for a Cool Planet." The adventure began with the game Gobblet!, which became a great success worldwide and laid the foundation for the further growth of the company. To date, Blue Orange has released more than 200 games, available in over 60 countries. Their success is rooted in developing games that not only entertain but also create meaningful connections and memories.

A Diverse and Innovative Game Selection

Blue Orange’s assortment is versatile and targets different age groups and game genres. From strategic titles such as Kingdomino to dexterity games like Dr. Eureka and children’s games such as Pengoloo, there is something for everyone. The company continues to distinguish itself through innovation, as evidenced by the special edition Gobblers, released to celebrate their 25th anniversary in 2025. They also regularly launch new titles, including electronic interactive toys and strategic challenges like Linkx. This Tetris-like strategy game, designed by Robert Coleman, challenges players to be the first to create a connection between two sides of the game board.

Core Values: Quality, Sustainability, and Community

Quality and sustainability are the pillars of Blue Orange. Their games are made with durability in mind, so that generations can enjoy them. While the company initially focused mainly on environmentally friendly initiatives, such as offsetting their ecological footprint by planting trees, the recent emphasis is on supporting local communities. Blue Orange donates games to schools, libraries, and aid organizations and sponsors game nights. They also organize "play days" at summer camps to give as many children as possible the opportunity to play and enjoy the connecting power of games. In doing so, they emphasize their commitment not only to creating entertaining games but also to pursuing a positive impact on society.
