Goal of the game

The goal of Sardine is simple yet challenging: to collect as many sardine cards as possible by cleverly using your memory and observation skills. But how exactly does it work? In each round, you look at which sardines are in a sardine tin for a few seconds, and then try to remember those sardines as well as possible. This is exactly what it’s all about – you’re not only playing against your opponents but especially against your own memory! This game is all about the question: "Can I remember which sardines I saw?" Only with keen eyes and a flawless memory will you become the winner of this incredibly fun card game.

How is it played?

Each player starts with five face-down cards in front of them. In the middle, a large card with a ‘tin of sardines’ is flipped over. All players now carefully look at the different sardines on this card and try to remember them in just a few seconds. Time’s up? Then the tin is flipped back over. Now it’s your turn! You look at your own hand cards and lay down the sardines you think you saw in the tin. Once everyone has made their choice, the check follows. For every correctly guessed sardine, you win the card. But beware, if you make a mistake, you must surrender two of your previously won cards as a penalty! The game ends when a player has no cards left. The one with the most collected sardine cards is the ultimate memory champion!
