Objective of the game
The goal is as simple as it is challenging: outsmart your opponent. As the Codebreaker, your challenge is to decipher the secret color code created by the Codemaker. Have you cracked the code? Then you switch roles. The player who needs the fewest turns to break the codes after one or more rounds is the undisputed Mastermind. This is the ultimate logical game for two players where every move counts.
How to play Mastermind
The game starts with an important choice: who becomes the brilliant Codemaker and who the clever Codebreaker? The Codemaker secretly creates a unique code by placing four colored pegs behind a shield. Every combination is possible, even using multiple pegs of the same color! Once the code is set, the hunt begins.
As the Codebreaker, you place your first guess in the top row of the game board. Now it’s up to the Codemaker to provide feedback. For each peg that is the right color and in the right place, the Codemaker places a red key peg. For each peg that is the right color but in the wrong place, a white key peg is placed. The twist? The key pegs are placed in random order, so you don’t know which feedback belongs to which peg! With this crucial information, you adjust your strategy and place new pegs in the next row. Row by row, you get closer to the solution. Can you break the code within ten turns and beat your opponent? This challenging board game will keep you on the edge of your seat.
